The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and longevity of hard surface floors and carpets in commercial facilities. This position performs specialized floor care services including stripping, waxing, buffing, burnishing, scrubbing, carpet extraction, and routine floor maintenance while following company safety procedures and quality standards. The ideal candidate takes pride in delivering exceptional results, operates floor care equipment safely, and maintains a high level of attention to detail.
Essential Job Responsibilities:

Perform routine and restorative floor care on various flooring surfaces.

Strip, wax, seal, and refinish hard surface floors.

Buff and burnish floors to maintain a high-gloss finish.

Scrub and deep clean tile, concrete, vinyl, terrazzo, and other flooring materials.

Operate commercial floor machines including auto scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, swing machines, and extractors.

Perform carpet cleaning using extraction equipment and spot-cleaning techniques.

Clean and maintain floor equipment after each use.

Mix and use cleaning chemicals according to manufacturer instructions and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.

Report damaged flooring, equipment issues, or safety hazards to management.

Maintain assigned tools, equipment, and supplies.

Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and customer requirements.

Complete assigned work within scheduled timeframes.
Provide exceptional customer service while working in occupied facilities.

Qualifications

Previous commercial floor care experience preferred.

Experience operating commercial floor equipment is preferred.

Knowledge of floor finishes, coatings, and cleaning chemicals is a plus.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements: This position requires frequent physical activity and the ability to perform manual labor throughout the shift, including:
