American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room/Surgery position requiring circulator experience, AHA-issued BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, and a Louisiana or compact RN license.

Hospital-based OR/Surgery unit
-
Patient cases include ENT (pediatric, geriatric, and bariatric), urology, gynecology, general surgery, and smaller orthopedic cases (shoulder, knee, and hip)

1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio

Day shift: 6:30 AM–3:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with possible extension to 3:30 PM

On-call required 1–2 times per week, with potential weekend call
-
May occasionally be asked to float to a nearby OR location approximately 5 minutes away
-
13-week contract
-
Active Louisiana RN license or compact RN license currently in hand

Current AHA-issued certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
-
Minimum 1 year of OR/Surgery nursing experience required

Circulator experience required

Must be ready to practice independently from day one

US Social Security Number required for consideration

Provides nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation

Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness

Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families

Educates patients, family members, and caregivers and identifies appropriate resources
-
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not accepted for this position
