The Lead Host is responsible for supporting the host team and continuously looking for ways to maximize our business opportunities and operate at optimum efficiency. The Lead host is also responsible for monitoring, training, and guiding the hosts to ensure excellent customer service and execution of their tasks and ensuring the successful delivery of the Gibsons Restaurant Group’s culture and service philosophy, which is based upon four distinct core beliefs: Hospitality, Quality, Value and Family.

Following up and giving instructions as needed on tasks given to the hosts

Communicating with the host stand during service, to maintain optimum efficiency

Maintaining a thorough, hands-on knowledge of responsibilities of the host

Ensuring that the hosts receive the appropriate support and training to apply the best skills and knowledge on the job.

Updating Open Table/Seven Rooms database with events information and cleaning up the reservations book

Keeping track of menus, supplies and materials needed

Communicating all customer complaints and questions to the Front of the House, AGM or General Manager.

Ensuring compliance with all the company's policies and procedures

May perform other duties as assigned

Hosts are required to work shifts outside, in changing temperatures, as well as on a floating dock that could move.

High School Diploma or GED or equivalent and at least one year of experience and/or working in a customer service role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent customer service skills; ability to maintain calm under tight pressure; ability to inspire and support people; strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with all levels of professionals; ability to plan well and prioritize work; good decision-making and communication skills.
