Now Hiring: Part-Time Caregiver – NE Portland | Tues & Thurs
We're currently hiring a compassionate and dependable caregiver to support a male client living in an assisted living community in NE Portland, near the Moda Center.
Schedule:
Available Shifts: Tuesdays and Thursdays: 10:00 AM–3:30 PM
Potential for additional shifts with other clients based on your availability.
About the Client
We are seeking a caregiver to provide companionship and hands-on support for an older male veteran who lives in an assisted living community. The client has mild dementia and benefits from reminders, routine, and a caregiver who can help him stay active and engaged.
He uses a walker for shorter distances and a scooter to get around the building. He benefits from standby assistance with mobility and transfers, along with help getting dressed and safely getting in and out of the shower.
Care Needs Include
- Companionship and social engagement
- Standby assistance with mobility and transfers
- Assistance with dressing and grooming
- Assistance getting safely in and out of the shower
- Light housekeeping and laundry
- Reminders and support with daily routines and appointments
- Encouragement with walking, stretching, and activities within the community
- Picking up meals for the client within the facility as needed
No client transportation is required for this VA case.
Pay: Up to $22.50/hour, based on experience.
Qualifications
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable
- Comfortable providing hands-on personal care and standby assistance
- Dementia caregiving experience preferred
- Comfortable supporting a client with mobility and balance concerns
- Caregiving experience preferred, but training is provided for the right candidate
- Reliable transportation to and from the client's assisted living community
