American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry/PCU RN for a 13-week teaching hospital assignment requiring at least 1 year of tele monitoring experience and Epic proficiency.

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a teaching hospital
-
Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
-
Every other weekend required
-
Float required within the health system
-
Utilizes Epic EMR
-
Cares for patients requiring telemetry monitoring, including on-unit and remote monitoring
-
Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
-
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
-
Must be able to pass a telemetry competency test

Experience monitoring telemetry patients required
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Teaching hospital experience preferred
-
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
-
Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for the second reference; coworker references not accepted

Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, wound care, and non-invasive airway management

Skilled in heparin protocols, PCA management, and IV insulin/titration protocols

Participates in rapid response and code team activations

Follows isolation precautions and proper PPE use

Local candidates accepted at the same rate

Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more

Current employees of the health system are not eligible for travel assignments at any of its hospital locations

RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less

Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing a contract
