Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing and waxing to maintain the appearance of various surfaces.
- Ensure all janitorial supplies are stocked and readily available for use.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks and facilities upkeep as needed.
- Respond to emergency cleaning requests in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas including entrances and walkways.
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure specific cleaning needs are met during events or special activities.
Qualifications
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning practices and equipment.
- Experience in floor care techniques including buffing and waxing is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of basic maintenance procedures and facilities upkeep.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
