Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Assistant Service Manager (ASM) to join our dynamic automotive service team. In this pivotal role, you will support the Service Manager in overseeing daily operations of the service department, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and maintaining high standards of automotive repair and maintenance. Responsibilities
- Assist the Service Manager in coordinating daily shop operations, including scheduling, workflow management, and quality control.
- Lead and motivate a team of service technicians, ensuring efficient diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of vehicles.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repair needs clearly, offering recommendations, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
- Support upselling efforts by identifying additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, and transmission services.
- Oversee vehicle inspections to diagnose mechanical issues accurately using automotive diagnostics tools and mechanical knowledge.
- Manage service writing and auto estimating to prepare accurate repair orders and cost estimates for customers.
- Handle cash transactions responsibly while maintaining detailed records of all service activities and sales.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards related to auto body repair, air brake systems, shocks & struts, diesel engine repairs, and other specialized automotive services.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience with a strong background in auto service management or supervisory roles.
- Extensive mechanic experience with expertise in automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures across various systems including transmissions, brakes, suspensions, oil changes, tire services, and auto body repairs.
- Knowledge of automotive repair processes such as air brake systems, alignments, shocks & struts, diesel engines, and other specialty services.
- Demonstrated ability to upsell additional services while maintaining excellent customer relationships.
- Strong understanding of auto estimating software and service writing practices.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and problem-solving.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while managing multiple priorities efficiently.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
