Patriot Property Management Group (PPMG) is seeking a skilled, dependable, and self-motivated Residential Maintenance Technician / Handyman to join our growing team. PPMG manages hundreds of apartments and residential properties throughout Western Massachusetts, and we are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well, and can solve problems independently.
This position offers consistent year-round work, a variety of projects, and the opportunity to become a key member of our maintenance team.
What You'll Do
The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling a wide range of residential maintenance and repair tasks, including:
- Completing service requests in occupied apartments
- Preparing vacant units for new residents
- Drywall repair, patching, and painting
- Basic plumbing repairs (faucets, toilets, drains, shutoffs, etc.)
- Basic electrical repairs (switches, outlets, fixtures, smoke detectors)
- Appliance installation and troubleshooting
- Interior and exterior door repairs and lock changes
- Carpentry and trim work
- Flooring repairs and installation
- Cabinet installation and repairs
- Window and screen repairs
- Property inspections and preventative maintenance
- Assisting with larger renovation and capital improvement projects
- Identifying maintenance issues before they become larger problems
- Maintaining accurate work order notes and communication with the management team
Qualifications
We're looking for someone with:
- 3+ years of residential maintenance, handyman, construction, or remodeling experience
- Strong working knowledge of carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, and basic electrical systems
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks throughout the day
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Professional attitude when interacting with residents and staff
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work
- Ability to pass a background check
