Location: Congers, NY
Schedule: C Shift | Thursday-Sunday & Friday-Sunday Rotation | 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM
Pay: $28.00-$38.00/hour + 10% Shift Differential
Zing is seeking a skilled Mechanic I to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of sophisticated electro-mechanical production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position plays a critical role in maintaining production efficiency, equipment reliability, and product quality.
- Troubleshoot, repair, set up, and maintain electro-mechanical manufacturing equipment
- Complete equipment changeovers and machine setups
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance activities
- Support production operations by ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently
- Read, understand, and modify Siemens PLC programs
- Analyze and troubleshoot electrical circuitry using schematics and diagnostic equipment
- Communicate engineering issues and create work requests as needed
- Perform machinery safety inspections and ensure lockout/tagout procedures are followed
- Monitor multiple high-speed assembly machines and provide technical support to production teams
- Maintain maintenance records and equipment documentation
- Support machine shop operations and spare parts inventory management
- Identify opportunities for process, efficiency, and cost improvements
- Assist in developing operating procedures and equipment documentation
- Maintain product quality standards by inspecting equipment, identifying malfunctions, and making adjustments as needed
- Train new employees on manufacturing processes and equipment as directed
- Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent combination of education, training, and recent, relevant industry experience is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing maintenance experience
- Strong knowledge of:
- Electrical systems
- Mechanical systems
- Pneumatics
- Control systems
- Blueprint and schematic reading
- Experience working with diagnostic instruments and testing equipment
- Machine shop experience preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Effective communication and documentation skills
- Proficiency with computer systems and web-based applications
- Ability to work assigned shift schedules
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and ongoing learning
- Manufacturing maintenance experience in a clean room environment
- Experience supporting high-speed automated production equipment
- PLC troubleshooting and modification experience
- Experience working within regulated manufacturing environments
