Job Overview
Davis Water Service, Inc. is seeking an experienced Finance Specialist to join our finance team. This position is ideal for a highly organized accounting professional who is comfortable working in a multi-state environment and managing a broad range of accounting and financial responsibilities.
The successful candidate will have strong hands-on accounting experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to independently research, reconcile, and resolve financial discrepancies.
Responsibilities
- Support Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions
- Perform bank, credit card, general ledger, and account reconciliations
- Research and resolve discrepancies, outstanding balances, and accounting variances
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare and maintain journal entries and supporting documentation
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and financial records
- Support accounting activities for operations across multiple states
- Assist with accounting, billing, documentation, and compliance requirements associated with government and public-sector contracts
- Review invoices, purchase documentation, expense transactions, and supporting records for accuracy
- Monitor customer accounts, aging reports, collections, and payment activity
- Assist with vendor management and payment processing
- Maintain organized financial documentation and audit-ready records
- Assist with financial reporting, account analysis, and management reporting
- Support external accountants, auditors, government agencies, and other financial partners as needed
- Identify accounting discrepancies and recommend process improvements
- Maintain confidentiality of company, employee, customer, and financial information
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field
- Minimum of 3–5 years of finance experience
- Strong experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Demonstrated experience performing account and bank reconciliations
- Experience with ERP Systems,
- Experience working with companies operating in multiple states
- Advanced attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to research discrepancies and independently follow issues through resolution
- Experience with government contracts, government billing, public-sector customers, or government accounting requirements
Pay: $62,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
