Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Painter to oversee and execute high-quality painting projects across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. As a Lead Painter, you will serve as a key team member responsible for supervising painting crews, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering exceptional craftsmanship. Your expertise in surface preparation, various painting techniques, and technical schematics will drive the success of renovation, restoration, and new construction projects. Duties
- Lead and coordinate painting crews on multiple construction sites, ensuring timely completion of projects while maintaining high standards of quality
- Prepare surfaces thoroughly through sanding, plastering, caulking, and surface repairs to ensure optimal paint adhesion and durability
- Apply paint using hand tools, airless spray equipment, conventional spray systems, and power tools with precision and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations by enforcing proper use of respiratory protection, fall protection gear, and other safety protocols
- Perform color matching using visual color comparison techniques and apply knowledge of color theory to achieve desired aesthetic outcomes
- Manage surface preparation for diverse materials including stucco, masonry, concrete finishing, drywall restoration, and fixture installation
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly handling waste disposal and organizing tools such as hand tools, scaffolding, and scaffolding equipment
- Collaborate with project managers, carpenters, masons, and other trades to coordinate tasks effectively during renovation or remodeling projects
Experience
- Proven experience in construction painting with a strong background in residential, commercial, and industrial environments
- Extensive knowledge of construction site safety regulations including OSHA standards or equivalent safety protocols
- Skilled in surface preparation techniques such as plastering, caulking, sanding, masonry work, and concrete finishing
- Hands-on experience with various painting methods including airless spray painting, conventional spraying, brushwork, roller application, and power tools
- Familiarity with renovation processes involving fixture installation or restoration work is highly desirable
- Ability to interpret technical instructions accurately while demonstrating basic math skills for measurements and estimations
- Strong carpentry skills including trim carpentry and frame carpentry are advantageous for comprehensive project support
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced environments
