Group Class Fitness Instructor– Part-Time

ABOUT THE ROLE
Pioneer Valley CrossFit (PVCF), is seeking a skilled and energetic CrossFit Group Class Instructor to join our coaching team. This position is available part-time for 1-3 class blocks per week, and is a great opportunity for a coach who is passionate about community, fitness, and athlete development.
You will be responsible for leading group CrossFit classes at a high standard: delivering engaging, safe, and effective sessions for athletes across a broad spectrum of experience and ability levels. The right candidate brings energy, technical depth, and the kind of coaching presence that keeps members coming back.
ABOUT PVCF
Pioneer Valley CrossFit is one of the longest continuously running affiliates in the country, founded in 2007, with a strong, loyal community at its core. We run structured group programming and prioritize inclusive culture and coaching excellence. Both our owner and our general manager are full time employees working daily in the business. Our entire staff is small and tight-knit, we take what we do seriously, and we support each other in doing it well.
ABOUT YOU
- You are an experienced CrossFit coach (or equivalent) with a deep understanding of the movements, methodology, and culture of CrossFit.
- You are skilled at scaling workouts appropriately for athletes at all levels, from brand-new beginners to competitive athletes.
- You have strong cueing ability and can identify and correct movement faults in a fast-paced class environment.
- You are high-energy, organized, and able to manage a group class space safely and efficiently.
- You build community naturally, you know your athletes by name, remember what they're working on, and hold them accountable with warmth.
- You are willing and excited to work with the queer community, are knowledgeable about proper pronouns, and use gender-neutral language in your coaching.
- You are punctual, reliable, and take your schedule commitments seriously.
- You are willing to assist with programming feedback, athlete check-ins, and facility upkeep.
REQUIREMENTS
- CrossFit Level 1 Certificate (L2 or higher strongly preferred)
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Minimum 1-2 years of CrossFit coaching experience in a group class setting
- Strong working knowledge of Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics, and metabolic conditioning
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
- Lead assigned group CrossFit classes with energy, professionalism, and technical precision
- Deliver pre-written programming; provide feedback to management on efficacy and athlete needs
- Participate in community events including Murph, PVCF Cup, Friday Night Lights, and other affiliate events
- Support coverage for other coaches during vacations and unexpected absences
- Contribute to social media content and gym community culture
- Attend team meetings and participate in performance reviews
COMPENSATION
Compensation: Part-Time$30-$35 per class
50% coverage of training certificationGym membership compensated
