M365 Testing Engineer Lead
6 months initial W2 contract
Location: New York, NY 10036
Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite/week)
Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST
Position Summary
Seeking an experienced M365 Testing Engineer Lead to lead testing strategy, automation, and quality assurance across Microsoft 365 platforms, including Exchange Online (EXO), Teams, SharePoint, M365 Core Services, Client Workstation Packaging, Robotics, Microsoft Defender, and Email Routing/Security Compliance solutions.
This role partners with engineering, security, and compliance teams to translate business and technical requirements into test plans, drive regression testing, manage testing rings, and ensure platform stability and release readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead M365 regression testing across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, M365 Core, Security & Compliance, Robotics, and client packaging.
- Define and execute testing and automation strategies, frameworks, and best practices.
- Translate business, engineering, UX, and compliance requirements into test cases and validation plans.
- Manage test planning, execution, defect tracking, reporting, and release readiness reviews.
- Own lower testing rings/environments supporting continuous regression testing.
- Establish governance, quality controls, testing standards, and KPI reporting.
- Coordinate with Security, Risk, Compliance, and Infrastructure teams to validate controls and regulatory requirements.
- Drive test data management, automation, and continuous testing improvements.
- Define, optimize, and maintain testing processes aligned with ITSM/ITIL principles.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of QA, software testing, automation, or validation experience.
- 3+ years leading enterprise testing programs or QA teams.
- Strong Microsoft 365 testing experience, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and M365 Security solutions.
- Experience developing test automation frameworks and regression testing strategies.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Defender, email routing, compliance controls, and release governance.
- Strong understanding of ITSM/ITIL processes.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial services or other highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL, COBIT, NIST, or similar governance frameworks.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing tools.
- Microsoft, ISTQB, ITIL, or related certifications.
Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
