Southeast Neuroscience Center is seeking a Medical Assistant / Certified Phlebotomist to support our providers in delivering high-quality neurological care. This position combines traditional medical assisting responsibilities with phlebotomy services and requires an individual who is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to excellent patient care.
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant and professional phlebotomy experience required.
- Current Phlebotomy Certification required.
- CPR certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical practice.
Responsibilities
Medical Assistant Duties
- Room patients and obtain vital signs.
- Document patient history and update medical records.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during visits.
- Administer injections and medications as directed.
- Perform EKGs and other basic clinical procedures as needed.
- Prepare examination rooms and maintain clinical supplies.
- Clean and sterilize medical equipment following infection control protocols.
- Coordinate patient care and communicate with providers and staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Provide outstanding customer service and patient education.
Phlebotomy Duties
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection safely and efficiently.
- Verify patient identity and ensure accurate specimen labeling.
- Prepare, process, and package specimens according to laboratory standards.
- Maintain phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
- Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control guidelines at all times.
- Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after blood collection procedures.
Schedule
- Monday – Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
