Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Painter to join our team and elevate our painting projects to new heights. As a Lead Painter, you will oversee and execute high-quality painting work across residential, commercial, and renovation sites. Your expertise in construction painting, color theory, and various finishing techniques will ensure that every project meets our standards of excellence. Duties
- Lead and coordinate painting crews on construction sites, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards are met throughout each project
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Execute detailed interior and exterior painting using hand tools, power tools, airless spray equipment, and specialized techniques such as stucco or industrial coatings
- Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately determine scope of work and material requirements
- Estimate project costs related to materials and labor through construction estimating skills for accurate budgeting and planning
- Perform finishing touches including trim carpentry, fixture installation, restoration work, masonry repairs, and drywall finishing to achieve polished results
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and managing the proper use of tools such as scaffolding, welding equipment, and masonry tools
Qualifications
- Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, construction painting or related fields with a strong understanding of renovation processes
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, airless paint spraying equipment, scaffolding setup, and maintenance of tools
- Knowledge of color theory for selecting appropriate paint schemes that enhance aesthetic appeal
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately for project execution
- Familiarity with plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, stucco application, masonry work, concrete finishing, framing carpentry and fixture installation
- Experience with industrial coatings or restoration projects is a plus
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations needed during estimating or project adjustments
- Strong construction site experience with an understanding of safety regulations and site protocols
- Handyman experience or skills in welding can be advantageous for specialized tasks
