Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager – Finance Transformation to support a major enterprise finance transformation program in Urbandale, IA. Reporting to the Project Lead, the Senior Project Manager will manage and support multiple workstreams, ensuring projects are executed successfully and aligned with the overall transformation strategy and Target Operating Model (TOM).
The ideal candidate will have a strong Finance or Accounting background, proven experience leading Finance Transformation or Finance PMO initiatives, and a track record of delivering complex enterprise-level transformation programs.
This role will involve managing direct and indirect resources across geographically dispersed teams and collaborating closely with senior stakeholders across Finance and other business functions. The successful candidate must be comfortable operating in a dynamic environment, influencing senior leadership, managing competing priorities, and driving projects to completion with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate multiple projects and workstreams across Finance and other business functions.
Drive project execution across people, process, technology, and real estate workstreams supporting the Target Operating Model.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, implementation schedules, migration plans, business cases, assessments, and communication plans.
Communicate project objectives, milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables to senior stakeholders and project teams.
Provide strategic support to the Finance transformation portfolio and assist with key business and project decisions.
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and proactively resolve issues.
Escalate critical risks, issues, and business impacts to appropriate management.
Ensure project controls, governance, compliance, and change-control processes are followed.
Coordinate resources and deliverables across geographically distributed teams and functions.
Prepare and deliver project status updates and presentations to senior Finance leadership.
Facilitate problem-solving and decision-making for key project issues.
Support successful transitions, integrations, and implementation activities throughout the transformation program.
Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and effectively influence decisions across the organization.
Required Qualifications
5–10+ years of Project Management experience.
Proven experience leading Finance Transformation and/or Finance PMO initiatives.
Experience working within large-scale enterprise transformation programs.
Finance or Accounting background is required.
Strong executive-level communication and presentation skills.
Strong Microsoft 365 expertise.
Experience managing and coordinating multiple enterprise projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
Experience managing project risks, issues, dependencies, deliverables, and change control.
Experience supporting or delivering Target Operating Model (TOM) initiatives is preferred.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in collaborative, team-oriented environments.
Adaptability and ability to operate effectively in dynamic, fast-paced organizations.
Stable employment history with demonstrated tenure in previous roles.
