Yes. I would blend the Indeed language with the version we created, but keep the parts that make your operation different—especially anticipating needs, communicating with the kitchen, supporting multiple accounts, and performing under pressure. I would also remove Aloha and Micros since those don't apply to your operation.
Front of House Operations Coordinator
The Jamaican Pattie Shop
Join The Jamaican Pattie Shop as a Front of House Operations Coordinator, where customer service, organization, communication, and the ability to work well under pressure are essential.
We are a small, high-volume operation managing multiple sales channels, including our storefront, online ordering and delivery platforms, catering, hospital accounts, pop-ups, and off-site events. Because of this, this is not a traditional front-of-house position.
Your primary responsibility is to own the front of the house and the customer experience, while remaining aware of what is happening throughout the operation. You must be able to multitask, anticipate what is needed, communicate effectively with the Back of House, and assist with preparations for our off-site accounts when necessary.
What We're Looking For
Working well under pressure is the #1 requirement for this position.
We operate under strict time constraints. Customers are waiting, online orders are coming in, food must be replenished, and off-site teams may be preparing to leave for an account or pop-up.
We need someone who can remain organized, professional, and productive while several things are happening at the same time.
You must be:
- Exceptional at working under pressure
- Customer-service focused
- Highly organized
- A strong multitasker
- Proactive rather than reactive
- Dependable and punctual
- Flexible and agile
- An effective communicator
- Detail-oriented
- Comfortable with technology and multiple ordering platforms
- Able to prioritize responsibilities without becoming overwhelmed
- Able to recognize what needs to happen next without constantly being told
If you do not genuinely enjoy working with customers, this is not the position for you.
ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Front of House
- Greet every guest warmly and provide attentive, professional service.
- Create a welcoming experience for customers from the time they enter until their order is completed.
- Accurately take, prepare, package, and coordinate customer orders.
- Manage the POS system and process customer transactions accurately.
- Monitor and manage orders from multiple online and delivery platforms, including DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, and direct orders.
- Answer customer questions regarding menu items when appropriate.
- Recommend and upsell menu items when appropriate.
- Ensure orders are complete, accurate, properly packaged, and ready on time.
- Maintain an organized and professional customer-facing environment.
Anticipate What We Need
A major responsibility of this position is anticipating needs before they become problems.
You should never wait until the front has completely run out of an item before communicating with the kitchen.
If rice, curry chicken, jerk chicken, patties, vegetables, sauces, containers, or another product is getting low, you are expected to recognize it and communicate with the Back of House before we run out.
For example:
Don't wait until:
"We're out of rice."
Instead communicate:
"We're getting low on rice and will need another pan soon."
The same applies to Jamaican patties and other products that require cooking or preparation time.
The goal is to keep service moving and prevent unnecessary customer wait times.
Communication With Back of House
- Maintain consistent communication with the kitchen throughout the shift.
- Monitor food levels and communicate replenishment needs in advance.
- Alert the kitchen to large or incoming orders.
- Communicate clearly about what is needed and when it is needed.
- Ask questions when something is unclear.
- Help prevent service interruptions through proactive communication.
- Never wait until the last minute to communicate an operational need.
Food Service & Order Management
- Assemble and package food according to company standards.
- Ensure correct portions, sides, sauces, utensils, and other items are included with orders.
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Assist with food preparation and service activities when appropriate.
- Safely operate approved food-service equipment when required.
- Monitor Jamaican patties and other prepared products to ensure adequate quantities are available for customer demand.
- Maintain proper organization of takeout containers, bags, utensils, sauces, napkins, and other service supplies.
Cleanliness & Sanitation
Cleanliness and customer service are two of the most important responsibilities of this position.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary front counter and service area.
- Clean tables and customer areas throughout the shift.
- Maintain the restroom.
- Sweep and mop front-of-house areas as necessary.
- Keep the front refrigerator, beverage area, desserts, and grab-and-go products organized and stocked.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling requirements.
- Keep your workstation organized throughout the shift.
Supporting Pop-Ups, Catering & Off-Site Accounts
The Jamaican Pattie Shop operates multiple off-site accounts in addition to the storefront.
The storefront and its customers remain your primary responsibility, but you may also assist the team with preparing items for hospital accounts, catering orders, pop-ups, and other off-site events.
This may include:
- Gathering takeout containers and lids
- Preparing bags, utensils, napkins, and service supplies
- Packing jerk sauce and other sauces
- Gathering supplies needed by off-site teams
- Helping bag and organize orders
- Double-checking supplies before teams leave
- Assisting with staging items for catering, hospital accounts, or pop-ups
You are supporting these activities while continuing to maintain responsibility for the Front of House.
Schedule & Punctuality
Scheduled start time: 10:00 AM
Although our doors open to customers at 11:00 AM, online and advance orders may begin before the storefront officially opens.
The hour before opening is critical preparation time.
You will be expected to:
- Set up the Front of House.
- Review incoming orders.
- Check food availability.
- Check Jamaican pattie inventory.
- Check sauces and condiments.
- Check containers and packaging supplies.
- Stock beverages, desserts, and grab-and-go items.
- Communicate anything needed from the kitchen.
- Make sure the Front of House is completely prepared for service.
You must be ready to work at 10:00 AM. Punctuality is essential.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous restaurant, food-service, hospitality, retail, or customer-service experience preferred.
- Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time-management and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and organized during high-volume periods.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Experience using POS or online ordering systems preferred.
- Comfortable managing multiple tablets, apps, or ordering platforms simultaneously.
- Basic math and transaction-processing skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to follow instructions and company procedures.
- Ability to work independently while remaining part of a team.
- Ability to recognize problems and communicate them before they affect service.
What Success Looks Like
A successful Front of House Operations Coordinator doesn't simply work the counter — they manage the front.
They know what's happening with the customers.
They know what orders are coming in.
They know what food is available.
They recognize when something is getting low.
They communicate with the kitchen before there is a problem.
They keep the Front of House clean and organized.
They make sure orders are accurate.
They assist the team with off-site operations when needed.
And most importantly, they understand that customer service, cleanliness, communication, anticipation, organization, and the ability to perform under pressure are essential to this position.
