Neighborhood Interview and/or B-roll Video Creator
About the Role
We are hiring a Neighborhood Interview Video Creator whose primary responsibility is interviewing people in San Francisco neighborhoods or producing b-roll based on our direction.
This role is centered almost entirely on approaching strangers, starting conversations, and asking 5 to 10 short questions about their neighborhood and daily life. You should be comfortable with rejection and genuinely energized by finding the people who say yes.
If you enjoy talking to people, asking thoughtful questions, and capturing authentic opinions on camera, this role is for you.
What You Will Do
Walk different neighborhoods and approach people in public settings.
Introduce yourself clearly and ask residents if they are open to a brief on-camera interview.
Ask 5 to 10 neighborhood-focused questions provided by us.
Stay positive and respectful when people decline and keep engaging until you get great interviews.
Capture short, clear interview clips suitable for social video (TikTok, IG, FB, YouTube).
Obtain verbal consent before filming identifiable individuals.
Work independently while following interview prompts and guidelines.
What You Will Do: B-roll
Review our approved scripts and produce raw, unedited B-roll footage based on the locations we provide. Capture a variety of high-quality shots at each location—including establishing shots, close-ups, environmental details, people, movement, and alternate angles—to give our editors flexibility. Deliver all footage in its original, unedited format, organized by script and location with consistent file naming.
