Job Summary
The Shop Technician is responsible for ensuring all vehicles are serviced to the highest industry standards while providing exceptional customer service. You will handle complex collision repairs, mechanical maintenance, and technical estimating. Previous experience is strictly required; please do not apply if you do not have relevant automotive repair experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Collision & Mechanical Repair: Perform routine vehicle maintenance, and complex auto body restoration.
- Technical Fabrication: Execute sheet metal repair, fabrication, and structural MIG welding as required for collision restoration. (Experience Preferred)
- Estimating: Provide accurate auto repair estimates for customers and insurance companies. Ability to write estimates is a core requirement of this role.
- Compliance: Adhere to all manufacturer repair procedures and internal shop standards.
- Customer Engagement: Interact with customers to understand their vehicle needs and provide high-quality service throughout the repair process.
Experience & Qualifications
- Professional Background: Significant previous experience in a body shop or automotive repair environment is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in mechanical automotive systems, MIG welding, and fabrication is essential.
- Estimating: Proven experience with repair estimating software and processes.
- Certification: Valid driver’s license is required.
- Attributes: Strong work ethic, ability to work independently within a team, and high attention to detail.
Shop Safety & Dress Code
To ensure a safe working environment, all technicians must adhere to the following shop protocols:
- Safety Footwear: Steel-toe safety boots are a mandatory requirement and must be worn at all times while on the shop floor.
- Attire: Full-length pants are required for protection against shop hazards; shorts are not permitted in the service area. (Uniforms are given after your 90 day probation period)
- Physical Demands: Must be able to perform heavy lifting and remain on your feet throughout the shift.
