Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with dogs during daycare sessions, encouraging positive social interactions and play.
- Assist with dog boarding by providing attentive care, feeding, administering medications if needed, and monitoring health status.
- Handle dog restraint and animal handling techniques to ensure safety for pets and staff during activities or grooming.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces through regular sanitization to promote a healthy environment.
- Support pet grooming and pet sitting tasks to meet individual needs of each dog in our care.
- Monitor animal behavior closely to identify signs of stress or discomfort and respond appropriately.
- Assist with outdoor activities such as walks or playtime in secure outdoor spaces, ensuring safety at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets’ well-being and any concerns.
- Participate in team lifting duties when moving supplies or large animals to ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Follow all facility policies related to animal care, sanitization, and safety procedures diligently.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in veterinary settings, veterinary technician work, kennel operations, or pet sitting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dog training techniques, animal behavior understanding, and pet grooming skills is a plus.
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to safely restrain dogs of various sizes and temperaments.
- Experience with pet boarding facilities or outdoor work involving animals enhances your suitability for this role.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for equipment or large animals.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude towards clients and their pets.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, sanitized environment through proper cleaning practices.
