About the Role
As a Maintenance Specialist, you will be instrumental in providing lasting solutions, executing critical projects, and resolving complex equipment issues. Your expertise will drive improvements in operational efficiency and throughput, while also mentoring and training fellow maintenance team members.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead maintenance projects, including equipment modifications, new product integrations, and complex problem resolutions, enhancing overall operational capabilities.
- Collaborate across departments such as production, sales, and engineering to implement effective solutions, fostering a cohesive and efficient work environment.
- Identify and resolve recurring maintenance issues, implementing root cause solutions to minimize downtime and improve operational throughput.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment, addressing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Offer expert support to operating teams, providing troubleshooting assistance and problem analysis to prevent equipment failures and maintain smooth operations.
- Champion a positive work environment by promoting effective communication and collaboration among team members, fostering strong relationships across departments.
- Assist in identifying the underlying causes of recurring breakdowns and implementing targeted solutions to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, coupled with 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in creating preventive maintenance plans and executing maintenance and repair tasks effectively.
- Solid understanding of workplace safety and EHS management practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and machine safety inspections.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead troubleshooting efforts for complex process issues.
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment, particularly within a packaging area.
- Advanced technical skills in food processing and packaging equipment, HVAC, compressed air, and mechanical/electrical systems, including PLCs and instrumentation.
- Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, inventory management, and scheduling software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
