As a Class A CDL Driver you will deliver and/or pick up construction equipment to/from our customers. Following safety procedures and abiding by all DOT laws and regulations is critical to this position.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to laws on commercial vehicle operation per federal, state and local authorities. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations by DOT such as size, weight, route destinations, parking and break periods
- Run truck/trailer unit to deliver/pickup equipment to/from customers and complete all paperwork
- Adhere to all safety requirements particular to heavy equipment including Federal Motor Safety Regulations. Load, handle and transport materials and heavy cargo safely. Run ratchet straps/chains/binders to secure load to trailer.
- Performs all pre-trip inspections, including equipment condition and oversize requirements. Inspect truck/trailer before and after trip and record any defects. Report any serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel
- Manage logs and records per DOT regulations
- Assist with planning routes and meet delivery/pick up scheduled. Contact customer/destination as needed to confirm location/directions
- Able to complete assignments with little or no supervision.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Class A drivers license, with air brake endorsement; preferred 2 years of experience
- Ability to operate trucks, agricultural, construction, and consumer equipment
- Diligence in safety
- Must be flexible and highly organized with the ability to work independently
- Must be honest, respectful and trustworthy and demonstrate sound work ethics
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Exhibit a cheerful presence and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of computer systems/smartphones and internet-based applications (Mapping/GPS software)
- Ability to work occasional extended hours during the week and possible weekend coverage
- Accurate and detailed oriented
- Must be able to pass criminal background check prior to hire.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening, motor vehicle check and employment verification
