Job Description
At Chicago Home Healthcare S.C., the Speech Language Pathologist plays an essential role in delivering high-quality speech therapy services to patients in a variety of care settings. This position involves working with both pediatric and adult populations to evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. Through individualized treatment and compassionate care, you will help improve patients’ overall quality of life and daily functioning.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients’ speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities through comprehensive assessments
- Create personalized treatment plans based on each patient’s specific goals and clinical needs
- Deliver speech therapy services in home healthcare environments
- Utilize standardized assessment tools and clinical judgment to accurately diagnose speech and language disorders
- Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Provide education and guidance to patients and family members regarding therapy techniques and strategies to support continued progress at home
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, patient progress, and outcomes
- Stay current with advancements and evidence-based practices in speech-language pathology and integrate them into patient care
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational program
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist, or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Clinical experience providing speech therapy services, preferably within acute care, hospital, or related healthcare settings
- Strong skills in conducting assessments and interpreting evaluation results
- Solid knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and neurology as they relate to speech, language, and swallowing functions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
