We are seeking a motivated and dependable Company Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks to transport goods efficiently across designated routes. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including those with manual transmissions, across short and long-distance routes.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
- Drive specialized trailers such as refrigerated units, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks based on delivery requirements.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checks on brakes, tires, lights, and load securement.
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations to ensure compliance during route driving.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated (e.g., tanker, flatbed).
- Proven experience in truck driving or delivery driver roles, preferably with freight handling experience.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and familiarity with refrigerated trailers or specialized equipment like forklifts.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to freight loading/unloading and vehicle operation.
- Ability to handle various types of trucks including tractor-trailers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and refrigerated units.
- Strong route planning skills with a focus on efficiency and punctuality.
