The Outdoor Bar Attendant is responsible for providing friendly, efficient, and compliant service to guests purchasing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from an outdoor bar or service station. This role includes preparing beverages, processing transactions, verifying identification, maintaining a clean and organized service area, and ensuring compliance with all local and state alcohol service regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Take beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and company standards.
- Verify guest identification and ensure compliance with all alcohol service laws.
- Package beverages appropriately for to-go consumption in accordance with local regulations.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and process cash, credit card, and mobile payments accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked outdoor bar area.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low-stock items.
- Ensure all equipment, supplies, and service areas are sanitized and maintained according to health and safety standards.
- Handle guest questions, concerns, and complaints professionally.
- Follow responsible alcohol service practices and refuse service when necessary.
- Assist with opening, closing, and daily setup/breakdown procedures.
- Support team members and contribute to a positive guest experience.
Qualifications
- Must meet minimum legal age requirements for alcohol service.
- Previous experience in bartending, beverage service, hospitality, or customer service preferred.
- Alcohol service certification (such as TIPS or equivalent) preferred or required based on local regulations.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to remain professional when handling difficult situations.
