As an Assistant Montessori Teacher, internally known as an Assistant Guide, you'll support our faith-based early childhood program by implementing curriculum, integrating Christian values, worship, and prayer, and maintaining a nurturing classroom environment. You'll tend to the infant and children's physical and emotional needs, model proper hygiene, and assist with daily family transitions. This role offers hands-on experience in childcare, including record-keeping and family communication. This is a part time role working an average of 20 hours per week with children 6 weeks to 5 years old.
Hourly Pay: $17.00
Responsibilities:
- Attend to children's physical and emotional needs promptly and with compassion, ensuring a nurturing and supportive environment.
- Implement and uphold Montessori principles in all activities, fostering an environment that promotes independence, exploration, and individualized learning.
- Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.
- Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
- Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
- Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to daycare center.
- Create daily progress reports based on the Guides instructions and observations of children, ensuring clear communication with families.
- Follow all center policies and state regulations.
- Maintain accurate records, forms, and files.
- Maintain a professional development plan to ensure ongoing professional growth.
- Embrace and integrate constructive feedback positively to support continuous professional development.
- Assist to design, lead, and actively participate in classroom activities that incorporate Christian values, worship, and prayer, fostering a spiritually enriching environment for children.
Required Skills:
- Ability to work well with others and foster a team environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of a PC and Tablet.
- Basic understanding of early childhood development.
- Basic knowledge of fundamental Christian values and practices.
Required Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age
- Infant/Child First Aid and CPR Certification (can be completed within 1 month of employment)
Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Physical Requirements: Ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels, kneel, bend, squat, crawl, see up close and up to a certain distance, see colors, have peripheral vision, and depth perception.
