Duties:
- Assist in the implementation of occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.
- Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises, activities, and interventions.
- Help patients improve their motor skills, coordination, balance, and strength.
- Assist with the use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices to enhance independence and functional abilities.
- Monitor and document patient progress, including changes in condition and response to treatment.
- Collaborate with the occupational therapist to develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and home exercise programs.
Requirements:
- Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Knowledge of medical imaging, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple patients and tasks efficiently.
