Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating tractor-trailers to ensure the safe and timely delivery of freight across designated routes. The ideal candidate will possess extensive driving experience, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to load and unload cargo efficiently. Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers and refrigerated trailers, while adhering strictly to all safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as standing forklifts when necessary, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transit.
- Deliver freight accurately and on schedule across multiple routes while maintaining communication with dispatch for updates.
- Handle documentation related to deliveries, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and route logs.
- Maintain a clean driving record by practicing safe driving habits and reporting any incidents or vehicle issues promptly.
- Assist with route planning to optimize efficiency and fuel consumption.
- Support warehouse operations by assisting with loading or unloading cargo when required.
- Comply with all company policies regarding hours of service, safety procedures, and vehicle maintenance.
Skills
- Valid CDL A license with proven experience in commercial driving.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Experience operating manual transmission trucks preferred.
- Strong knowledge of freight handling, load securing techniques, and cargo safety protocols.
- Ability to operate auxiliary equipment such as standing forklifts when necessary.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and adherence to regulations.
- Experience in route driving with a proven track record of punctual deliveries.
- Good physical condition for loading/unloading cargo and performing vehicle inspections.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with dispatch teams and clients.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing schedules or route conditions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and late evenings
