Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:
Manages the daily operations of the warehouse, including freight, shipping and receiving and returns. The individuals must maintain high levels of accuracy in day-to-day operations, lead and develop the warehouse team and ensures a high level of customer service. This individual must also follow all company policies and procedures to include but not limited to: Quality and Food Safety Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, Safety, CPF General Work Rules.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Oversees and manages daily warehouse operations.
- Participates in hiring, conducting performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and employee training.
- Ensures a high level of customer service is provided – resolves customer service issues as needed.
- Manages finishes goods and raw inventory levels.
- Oversees forklift purchases and maintenance of vehicles for the Warehouse area.
- Implements processes and initiatives to drive productivity including inventory control, implementation of warehousing best practices, and overall cost management
- Ensures all required policies and procedures are being followed.
- Participates in audits – providing documentation as requested.
- Ensures personnel are working in a safe manner.
- Experience with warehouse management systems required.
Education requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
Training, Skills, Knowledge and/or Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing warehousing/logistics and supply chain.
- Previous supervisory/management experience
- Demonstrated strong computer skills.
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Experience:
- Food , Grocery or Beverage industry distribution centers or warehousing.
Supervisory responsibility:
- Directly responsible for supervising hourly, exempt, professional, or technical employees.
Physical Effort:
- Extensive walking, long periods sitting at a computer monitor, some light lifting.
