At Alpha, academic work is completed by students in only two hours per day through adaptive learning systems. This structure allows Guides to concentrate on transformational work: cultivating confidence, resilience, communication skills, and the drive to embrace difficult challenges. Your days won't involve standing before a classroom delivering prepared lessons. Instead, you'll coach students as they work through obstacles, acknowledge their progress, and model what rigorous standards look like when combined with authentic support.
You'll oversee one K-3 cohort band—Kindergarten-1st grade or 2nd-3rd grade. Half of your time goes to facilitating dynamic, one-hour workshops focused on essential life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and receiving feedback. The remaining half involves coaching students both individually and in small groups, leveraging learning analytics to ensure every child advances toward ambitious weekly targets. Each interaction carries weight. Students should emerge from your workshops more skilled than when they entered and finish your coaching sessions convinced they're capable of more than they previously imagined.
This position isn't designed for someone seeking to deliver set curriculum or oversee a traditional classroom. It's intended for someone passionate about inspiring young children, energized by concrete results, and convinced the right coach can alter a child's path. What you will be doing
- Facilitate compelling life-skills workshops that enable K-3 students to develop communication, concentration, feedback reception, and other foundational skills through active engagement rather than passive listening.
- Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation frameworks, and strong interpersonal connections to ensure every child progresses toward ambitious weekly learning targets.
- Evaluate life-skill proficiency using Alpha's Test2Pass system, coaching students until they show genuine comprehension—not merely attendance.
- Tailor your coaching methods to match the developmental stage of your cohort, whether that involves songs, physical activity, and narratives for younger children or increased independence and responsibility for older students.
- Cultivate relationships where students feel secure enough to push beyond what they previously believed they could accomplish.
What you will NOT be doing
- Presenting academic lessons from a whiteboard. Students complete academics using adaptive software.
- Creating curriculum from the ground up. You'll refine and customize proven frameworks rather than designing lessons from scratch.
- Observing students as they work quietly on computers. Your responsibility involves active coaching, encouragement, and engagement.
- Reducing expectations when students face difficulties. Progress happens by helping students meet the standard, not by adjusting the standard downward.
- Overseeing homework, grading assignments, or managing routine parent correspondence.

- Willing to work on-site at one of Alpha's campuses. - Bachelor's degree in any subject.
- At least 3 years of experience working directly with children ages 4-9 through teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or similar environments.
- Experience leading group activities for young children, with a concrete example of the structure or routine you used and how you kept the group engaged.
- A track record of motivating young children to achieve challenging goals, with specific examples of your impact.
- A concrete example of changing your approach based on feedback and the result.
- Comfort using AI-powered learning while focusing your own energy on coaching, motivation, and life-skill development.
- The ability to balance warmth with unwavering expectations.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Experience in youth sports, children's theater, camp leadership, Montessori, progressive education, or high-engagement after-school programs.
- Personal experience achieving ambitious goals in academics, athletics, or your career.
