Responsibilities
* Assists the cook with food preparation.
* Serve meals trays - uses proper food preparation techniques to ensure food safety.
* Ensures that the kitchen area is safe and maintained according to state and local sanitary standards.
* Wash and store dishes following facility procedures. Clean food serving areas and storage equipment.
Required Qualifications
Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, using the English language.
Serve meals from standardized recipes in accordance with the menu and ensures proper
portioning, and serving of foods in a safe and sanitary manner.
Assists in ordering food and kitchen supplies
Assists in execution of special events and functions.
Keeps stock coolers, and freezers clean. Ensures that food supplies are rotated and all
perishables are labeled, dated and stored properly.
Maintains kitchen equipment cleanliness and proper food preparation according to state and local
health department code requirements and departmental procedures.
Ability to lift: Up to 50 pounds
