Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Fudge Cook to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality fudge and confections. Your experience in food preparation and food safety will definitely be a contribution. This position offers an exciting opportunity to learn to prepare fudge, peanut brittle and other products.
You would be responsible for preparing 4 to 6 loaves of fudge a day as well as cleaning the cook area and utensils. Shop hours are generally 8:30 to 5:00 Monday through Friday but we are definitely willing to work with you on hours and days available depending on your schedule.
A typical workday:
- Measure ingredients into batches.
- Cook batches to the set temperature.
- Pour batch onto marble table (inside silver bars) to cool.
- Using a paddle the fudge is worked on the table until it starts to stiffen up.
- Using a smaller paddle, it is shaped into a loaf on the marble table.
- After cooling down each loaf of fudge is cut from the table and placed on trays on a rack.
- Clean marble tables, counter, floor, pot and utensils used.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and follow instructions and work with your hands.
- Driver's license and vehicle to get to and from work.
- Prior work in a kitchen or cooking in a professional capacity is a plus but not necessary.
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
