JOB Under the general direction of the Superintendent of Recreation is responsible for driving residents and guests of Stamford around the Cove Island Park loop. Enforcing the safety rules of the vehicle; reviewing the daily schedules and answer questions guests may have regarding tram rules and hours. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Working Conditions: This position can be physically challenging, including, but not limited to, driving during cold /hot weather and rain. Shifts include most weekends and weekdays. Hours worked per week vary and depend on the month. The Cove Island Tram runs May (weekends only) thru September 1. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be 18 years or older *Must wear staff provided attire at all times while on duty.

Must pass a City provided physical and drug test prior to being hired.

Must be able to navigate a large automatic vehicle (training provided)

Must be able to learn and enforce critical safety rules

Excellent communication and presentation skills required

Must be available most weekends and several holidays

Must be able to interact with guests in a positive manner in all situations

Can-do attitude and flexibility is a must

Must be able to sit/drive for long periods of time

Must be willing to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager

Must be able to count number of guests per ride and record details in a tram log

Must keep accurate time records using a timecard punch clock *Check vehicle for obvious damage and maintenance needs (tires, cleanliness).

Help maintain vehicle cleanliness. Maintain current knowledge of applicable safety procedures and emergency equipment in the event of an illness, accident, or breakdown.
