We are seeking a customer-focused Project Manager with experience managing custom-engineered capital equipment, automation systems, packaging equipment, or industrial machinery projects in a manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for the successful execution of multiple capital equipment projects from order release through final installation and customer acceptance. The Project Manager will serve as the primary liaison between Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Service, and Customers to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Essential Job Functions include:
- Manage multiple custom packaging equipment projects simultaneously from order entry through customer acceptance.
- Serve as the primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle, providing timely communication and project updates.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules while ensuring project milestones, budgets, and deliverables are achieved.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Service, and Sales.
- Lead project kickoff meetings, internal status reviews, and customer progress meetings
- Manage project scope, change orders, scheduling adjustments, and associated commercial impacts.
- Identify project risks early and implement proactive solutions to maintain schedule and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate equipment Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), shipment, installation, and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities.
- Ensure all project documentation, reports, schedules, and customer communications remain accurate and current.
- Utilize project management software and reporting tools to track project performance and resource utilization.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve project execution, manufacturing efficiency, and customer experience.
- Travel to customer facilities as needed for project meetings, equipment installations, and acceptance testing (approximately 10 to 15%).
Requirements include:
- B.S. in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, or related technical field.
- 4+ years as a Project Manager or Project Engineer in Equipment Manufacturing, or as a Systems Integrator or Equipment Fabrication facility.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, or training is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and ability to work under pressure to meet critical deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive, ownership-oriented approach.
- Lean Six Sigma or other Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus but not required.
- Flexible and adaptable to adjust to changing client/project requirements.
- Detail-oriented, hands-on and action-minded with a consistent high sense of urgency to drive projects to completion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Monday.com, or similar project management software
Compensation for this position includes an attractive base salary commensurate with experience, annual bonus incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package. The candidate must be willing to relocate within commuting distance of Hawthorne, NY. Our client is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
