Evaluation and Assessment Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations for initial referrals, reevaluations,and eligibility determinations. Assess communication skills including, but not limited to, articulation, language, fluency,pragmatics, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) needs. Interpret assessment results and prepare written reports that clearly describe studentstrengths and needs. Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations and eligibility meetings.Service Delivery Provide direct and indirect speech-language services in individual, small-group, andclassroom-based settings.
Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with student IEP goals. Utilize evidence-based practices to support communication development. Integrate communication supports within natural educational environments Support students using AAC systems and assistive technology.IEP Development and Compliance Develop measurable annual goals and objectives related to communication needs. Maintain accurate service logs, progress monitoring data, and documentation.
Complete progress reports and other required special education documentation in atimely manner. Ensure compliance with IDEA, Massachusetts Special Education Regulations, anddistrict procedures.Collaboration and Consultation Collaborate with general education teachers, special education teachers, related serviceproviders, administrators, and families. Provide consultation regarding communication supports, accommodations, andclassroom strategies. Support staff in implementing communication-focused interventions and AAC systems.
Participate in team meetings, professional learning communities etc.Family Engagement Communicate with families regarding student progress and communication needs. Provide strategies and resources to support communication development acrosssettings. Foster positive partnerships with families and caregivers.Professional Responsibilities Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based speech-language practices and specialeducation regulations. Participate in professional development and ongoing learning opportunities.
