The responsibilities for Tool & Die Maker are to maintain daily maintenance, upkeep and repair of all stamping dies and weld fixtures. Pay commensurate with experience.
Experience Required:
- Previous work experience with progressive stamping dies in a precision metal stamping plant
- Proficient in die repair, maintenance, preventative measures, and continuous improvement
Job Requirements
- Analyze specs, layout metal stock, and set up/operate machine tools to repair metal stamping dies, cutting tools, fixtures, and gauges
- Dismantle, repair, and reassemble dies, ensuring proper operation
- Rework damaged components and perform change-overs on multi-use tooling
- Recognize and repair tooling failures during preventive maintenance
- Operate tool room equipment (mills, lathes, grinders) to shape parts to precise dimensions
- Read and interpret engineering drawings for fabricating tools and dies with tight tolerances.
- Proficient in blueprint reading and using measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify part dimensions and clearances.
