Why does the job exist?
The Federal Compliance QA Unit conducts ongoing reviews for CYFD to ensure consistency, accuracy, assess practice, and adherence to state policy and federal requirements. The unit conducts the Child and Family Services Reviews (CFSR) during a Federal Round and utilizes the federal On-Site Review Instrument (OSRI) when not in a federal Round as part of CYFD's Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process. Reviews will include CFSR/CQI, IV-E reviews (which can encompass the legal and placement reviews), Statewide Central Intake (SCI) reviews and other QA reviews as assigned to meet the needs of the agency. The Federal Compliance QA unit staff will also be trained on Quality Services Review (QSR) and utilize that review process as needed/requested by CYFD. Reviewers will assist with analyzing trends across reviews, identify systemic issues, translates findings into actionable recommendations and assist with QA trainings.
How does it get done?
Conduct case reviews in accordance with the federal CFSR/On-Site Review Instrument structure, Legal Reviews, Placement Reviews and all other QA Reviews as assigned (50%).
Preparation for case reviews (20%).
Liaise with agency leadership and county staff to strategize on improvement initiatives and planning for Statewide Program Improvement Plans (20%).
Co-facilitate peer reviewer trainings (10%).
Minimum Qualification
Associate Degree in Social Work, Education, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or Family Services from an accredited college/university and two (2) years of any combination of experience, including working with communities on health or social service-related matters, social work/case management experience, behavioral health, and/or health care. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Working Conditions
Office setting with exposure to VDT. EXTENSIVE in-state travel. Conduct one-to-one interviews with individuals receiving public assistance to validate benefits issued.
