About Clubhouse Kids
Clubhouse Kids provides engaging afterschool programming that helps youth build confidence, develop new skills, and have positive experiences in their communities. We are looking for an energetic Athletics & Recreation Coach to bring sports, movement, and recreation programming to our Louisville sites.
About the Position
The Athletics & Recreation Coach will design and lead fun, engaging, and age-appropriate athletic and recreation activities for youth at our Bristol Bluffs and Eclipse Clubhouse Sites.
This position will travel between both locations and serve as a resource for our site teams by developing activities and lessons that keep youth active, engaged, and excited to participate.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with kids, has a background in sports or youth programming, and can turn their knowledge of athletics into fun experiences for a variety of ages and skill levels.
Schedule & Compensation
- $25.00 per hour
- Maximum of 10 hours per week
- Monday–Thursday
- Program hours: 4:00 PM–6:30 PM
- Based between Bristol Bluffs and Eclipse in Russell
- Travel between sites is required based on programming needs
What You'll Do
- Plan and lead sports, athletics, movement, and recreation-based activities for youth.
- Develop engaging weekly lessons and activities that can be implemented at both Clubhouse sites.
- Lead activities such as basketball, soccer, football, fitness challenges, relay races, team games, and other recreational activities.
- Create activities that promote teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, confidence, and healthy lifestyles.
- Adapt activities for different ages, abilities, interests, and skill levels.
- Work alongside Clubhouse Kids site staff to support youth engagement and positive behavior.
- Provide activity ideas, demonstrations, and guidance to site staff when appropriate.
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment during all activities.
- Organize and properly use sports and recreation equipment.
- Travel between the Bristol Bluffs and Eclipse sites as scheduled.
- Communicate with program leadership regarding activity plans, supplies, youth engagement, and program needs.
- Serve as a positive role model for youth and demonstrate enthusiasm, professionalism, and strong leadership.
What We're Looking For
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Experience working with youth, children, or teens.
- Experience in sports, athletics, recreation, coaching, camps, afterschool programming, education, or youth development.
- Ability to lead groups of youth in a positive and engaging manner.
- Strong communication and group-management skills.
- Creative and energetic approach to activity planning.
- Comfortable working with youth with different abilities, personalities, and skill levels.
- Passion for sports, movement, recreation, and helping young people stay active.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel between Louisville program sites.
