Job Summary
Axxess Heating & Air Conditioning is seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial HVAC Installer to join our growing team. This position focuses primarily on the installation of commercial HVAC systems for a wide range of commercial and industrial facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with commercial HVAC equipment and ductwork installation, and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced jobsite environments.
As a Commercial HVAC Installer, you will be responsible for installing rooftop units, split systems, VRF systems, ductwork, refrigeration piping, controls, and related HVAC components while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications. Responsibilities
- Install commercial HVAC equipment, including rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, condensers, air handlers, exhaust fans, make-up air units, and VRF/VRV systems
- Install rectangular and spiral ductwork, hangers, dampers, insulation, and associated HVAC accessories
- Install condensate drains, controls, and low-voltage wiring as required
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, specifications, and HVAC plans to ensure accurate installation
- Coordinate with project managers, foremen, subcontractors, and other trades to maintain project schedules and quality standards
- Perform equipment start-up assistance, leak checks, pressure testing, and system verification
- Utilize power tools, welding/brazing equipment, lifts, ladders, and other construction equipment safely and effectively
- Ensure all installations comply with OSHA regulations, local building codes, and company safety standards
- Maintain clean and organized job sites while representing the company professionally at all times
- Assist with loading/unloading materials and managing jobsite inventory when needed
Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial HVAC installation experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and ductwork installation
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents
- Experience installing RTUs, split systems, exhaust fans, VAV systems, or VRF equipment preferred
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and installation equipment commonly used in commercial HVAC construction
- EPA Certification is preferred but not required
- Experience with brazing, welding, sheet metal fabrication, or controls installation is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift heavy equipment/materials and work on ladders, rooftops, and construction sites
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
