OVERVIEW:
Administers the workers' compensation program to include modified duty assignments. Assist the Health and Safety Compliance Specialist with the workers' compensation program, the Return-to-Work program, and the drug and alcohol testing program. Assist with EPA, DOT, VOSH, and VDEQ regulation compliance.

- Coordinate the onboarding of all new employees, which includes orientations and badge issuance.

Handles and maintains the integrity and confidentiality of highly sensitive human resource and management information records.

Monitors and coordinates the motor carrier regulations for the cooperative. Maintains and coordinates all CDL filings in accordance with FMCSA compliance requirements.

Assist in the coordination of NOVEC's random drug and alcohol testing and the implementation, testing, and record keeping.

Maintains and coordinates fire alarm management and compliance for suppression systems & sprinkler, to include annual building compliance for fire department walkthrough and annual maintenance.

Handles COI with insurance carrier, facilitates new COI issuance and documentation as needed.

Responsible for claims monitoring and administration, report generation, and communication with employees, managers, insurance carriers, and medical staff. Court case liaison with insurance for claims.

Investigates general liability claims against NOVEC and works with the department Manager to recommend a course of action.

Set up and maintain collection accounts for damage billing

Responsible for the review and/or billing of all SCC and/or general liability claims.

Generates and reviews risk management-related reports to ensure compliance, including annual DEQ reports for NOVEC office sites, audit reporting for mid and end of year projects and First Quartile reporting and tracking.

Works continually towards self-development to maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

An Associate’s degree in a related risk management, occupational safety, and health, or business discipline from an accredited institution is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

2+ of related experience and/or training.

Customer service experience.

Preferred certifications include Advanced First Aid/CPR Instructor.
- Must be available for on-call status.
