Seeking a Ministry Coordinator to serve Shelby, Bartholomew, Johnson and Jennings Counties in Indiana.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Goal: The ministry coordinator performs the planning, execution, and supervision of direct ministry to children.
Overview: The ministry coordinator shall be a born-again believer who feels called of God to the ministry of child evangelism and to the specific role of non-profit ministry.
Employer: Child Evangelism Fellowship of Indiana, Inc.
Immediate Supervisor: The chapter’s ministry coordinator team leader / local director
Supervises: Volunteers, interns, CYIA™ teens
Evaluation: Completed by the ministry coordinator team leader
Type of Position: This is a part-time or full-time, NON-EXEMPT employee that is paid on an hourly basis.
REQUIRED SPIRITUAL QUALITIES: The Ministry Coordinator must:
1. Acknowledge Christ as personal Savior and seek to live life as His disciple.
2. Believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God – our standard for faith and practice.
3. Be in whole-hearted agreement with and support of the Statement of Faith for Child Evangelism Fellowship® and be willing to sign the Ministry Compliance Agreement.
4. Actively participate as a member in good standing at a local, evangelical church that has a statement of faith in agreement with the Statement of Faith of Child Evangelism Fellowship.
5. Love the local church and other Christian organizations and value them as ministry partners.
6. Have a demonstrated love for Jesus Christ and prayer, and an unquestionable passion to reach children with the Gospel.
7. Possess leadership qualities as found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
8. Have skills to identify other leaders, organize groups, cast vision, and evaluate the ministry programs.
REQUIRED PERSONAL AND MINISTRY COMPETENCIES:
Administrative and Organizational Skills – The ministry coordinator will:
1. Ensure that all CEF® policies and procedures are followed and proper governance is maintained.
2. Keep accurate and complete records of ministry statistics and any other documents that must be filed or turned in to the local director.
3. Work with office staff to ensure all volunteer applications, interviews and reference checks, Statements of Faith, and Child Protection paperwork are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
4. Secure locations to conduct the various ministries of Child Evangelism Fellowship of Indiana, Inc.
5. Make sure all necessary materials are provided to club teams.
6. Ensure all clubs turn in accurate statistics, manage statistics, and share with the local director.
7. Assist in follow-up of children.
8. Communicate accurately about the current state of ministry to the local director and local committee.
9. Provide input to the local director for various newsletters and prayer ministries for the local chapter.
10. Write thank-you notes for personal and ministry financial and prayer supporters and to volunteers.
11. Attend local committee meetings and other chapter meetings, trainings, or fundraisers as necessary.
12. Attend all state-office-sponsored meetings as requested by the state director or board.
13. Manage time wisely, prioritizing effectively.
Big Picture Thinker – The Ministry Coordinator will:
1. See the ministry of CEF from its local, state, national, and international perspectives to fully understand its mission.
2. Ensure that volunteers, interns, and CYIA staff understand how their work relates to CEF’s overall mission.
3. Provide input to the local director as he/she works with the local committee to develop and submit an annual budget and strategic plan.
4. Assist the local director in actively seeking out and identifying opportunities to develop ministry to children.
5. Provide input to the local director in actively seeking out and identifying opportunities to develop donor relationships and fundraising opportunities for the chapter ministry.
Coaching and Mentoring – The Ministry Coordinator will:
1. Help plan, conduct, and attend regular teacher training classes offered for ministry volunteers.
2. Help new clubs start and troubleshoot issues during the first few weeks of ministry.
3. Regularly visit clubs to provide ministry staff and volunteers with prayer, encouragement, counsel, and direction.
4. Assist the local director in developing leadership skills in ministry staff, volunteers, and summer missionaries.
5. Assist the local director in identifying students (grades 9-college) who may be potential CYIA-ers, personally participate in CYIA as assigned by state leadership, and help CYIA become/remain successful.
6. Disciple CYIA teens throughout the year to build relationships that encourage spiritual growth and continued ministry opportunities.
Commitment to Personal Development – The Ministry Coordinator will:
1. Complete in a timely manner all CMI courses required for current position.
2. Demonstrate an understanding of and support for CEF methods.
3. Seek opportunities to master new knowledge.
4. With the guidance of the local director, set specific goals for personal development and work toward reaching these goals.
Communication – The Ministry Coordinator will:
1. Communicate the gospel message and ministry mission of CEF through training and evangelism opportunities.
2. Visit at least one church every month on behalf of CEF to promote and raise awareness of the ministry, find volunteers, raise prayer support, and raise general fund support for the ministry.
3. Serve as a liaison between CEF and the church.
4. Have good oral and written communication skills, including correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
5. Have good interpersonal skills, showing an understanding of the other person’s interests, needs, and concerns.
Influence and Conflict Resolution – The Ministry Coordinator will:
1. Develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships and relationships with others.
2. Involve others in a process or decision to ensure their support.
3. Consider objectives and desires of all parties and strive for a God-honoring, win-win solution.
4. Report unresolvable conflicts to the local director for continued help with resolution.

Leadership – The Ministry Coordinator will:
1. Understand that the foundation of ministry is prayer and lead by example in being committed to participating in and working toward the growth of an effective local prayer program.
2. Work with the local committee in raising sufficient funds for the ministry.
3. Assist the local director in establishing and maintaining church partnerships, which will fulfill the purpose of CEF: evangelize, disciple, and establish the next generation to God and His church.
4. Assist the local director in establishing, developing, and improving ministry effectiveness throughout the entire chapter.
5. Train, prepare, support, and lead volunteers as they carry out ministry.
6. Make effective decisions based in prayer and wise counsel and achieve desired results.
7. Keep supervisor informed of progress, issues, and potential problems.
Planning and Analysis – The ministry coordinator will:
5. Attend CEF conferences, workshops, seminars, etc.
6. Be willing to participate in direct ministry with children, including teaching in various CEF ministries, to maintain an understanding of today’s child and to adequately evaluate the effectiveness of CEF programs.
7. Separate evaluation from criticism, coping with feedback.
Planning and Analysis – The Ministry Coordinator will:
1. Work with schools, churches, and individuals to fulfill CEF ministry, completing necessary paperwork, scheduling clubs and other events, and working with volunteers.
2. If chapter participates in fair ministry, assist local director in organizing and conducting ministry outreach and recruit volunteers as necessary.
3. Plan and organize trainings for ministry volunteers.
4. Provide local director with feedback on training and overall ministry effectiveness and work together to provide improvement when necessary.
Goal Orientation – The Ministry Coordinator will:
1. Work with the local director to set long- and short-range goals to accomplish the ministry’s mission of evangelizing and discipling all children, striving to establish them in local churches, as set forth in the chapter strategic plan.
2. Assist the local director in formulating strategies that are achievable, cost-effective, and address CEF’s goals.
3. Identify and pursue desired outcomes for projects and meetings.
4. Continue to work toward achievement of goals in the face of obstacles.
