We are seeking a reliable and personable individual to do housekeeping tasks at two small boutique hotels in Philadelphia. This is a part-time, weekend and weekday position. This individual will be responsible for cleaning suites between guest stays, furniture upkeep (polishing wood, conditioning leather), minor maintenance, watering plants, grinding and bagging fresh coffee, maintaining inventory, maintaining shared spaces, and additional tasks upon request.
We are Philadelphia's first design-driven, "Invisible Service" boutique hotel, meaning there's no on-site staff or concierge. Everything the guest needs is loaded into each of our apartment-style rooms. With the help of our housekeeping and laundry crews, we ensure that everything is stocked, cleaned, and ready for the next guest.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES: Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Proper care and sorting of linens in on-site laundry facilities.
- Complete room turnover cleanings and special projects as needed.
- Light handiwork including tightening fixtures and changing filters.
- Keeping track of inventory for both locations.
- Traveling between locations for cleaning, supply and laundry drop-offs/pick-ups.
- Managing in-unit needs, such as troubleshooting appliances and quick fixes.
- Works well under pressure and in times of crisis.
- Performs other duties as assigned/required.
What We're Looking For:
- 2+ years experience working in housekeeping or laundry service.
- Fluent in English, multilingual welcome.
- MUST HAVE reliable vehicle with clean driving record.
- Tech-savvy individual.
- Weekends and Holidays required.
- A hard working perfectionist with an eye for detail.
- An effective team player who can also independently complete projects without direct supervision.
- A willingness and enthusiasm to do whatever it takes to make sure our guests have an amazing experience.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to identify and convey critical information to management quickly and precisely.
PHYSICAL, ENVIRONMENTAL & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift and carry 50lbs.
- Ascend/descend stairs and ladders. We do not have an elevator at either location.
- Must be able to remain stationary 50% or more of the time.
