Join Our Production Team
CHL Systems is hiring a Manager of Production to lead daily manufacturing operations across fabrication, machining, welding, and assembly. This is a full-time, salaried/exempt leadership role for someone who can drive safe, efficient, high-quality production while supporting on-time delivery of custom equipment and components.
This role is best suited for a hands-on manufacturing leader with experience in custom manufacturing, engineered equipment, job-shop, or industrial production environments. The ideal candidate will be comfortable leading through supervisors, coordinating across departments, improving workflow, resolving production challenges, and developing a strong, accountable production team.

What You’ll Do
- Lead daily manufacturing operations across fabrication, machining, welding, and assembly
- Ensure production schedules are executed safely, efficiently, and on time
- Coordinate with Production Planning to align capacity, labor, priorities, and production flow
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations to resolve production challenges and support project/customer requirements
- Drive performance in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, labor utilization, and cost control
- Identify bottlenecks, improve workflow, and optimize equipment, staffing, and scheduling
- Lead Lean, 5S, root cause, standard work, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Coach, develop, and evaluate production supervisors and team members
- Establish clear expectations, accountability standards, and consistent operating practices across departments
- Ensure accurate production, labor, and performance data within ERP/MRP systems
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 8–10+ years of progressive manufacturing experience, including leadership responsibility
- Experience leading production operations in a manufacturing environment
- Experience managing or coordinating multiple production areas such as fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, or similar departments
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production flow, labor planning, and operational performance
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and production documentation
- Experience using production metrics to improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, efficiency, and rework/scrap performance
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and hold supervisors and team members accountable
- Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced custom manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of industrial safety expectations, including PPE, machine safety, material handling, and Lockout/Tagout requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
- Technical or trade background with relevant leadership experience
- Experience in custom manufacturing, engineered equipment, job-shop, or made-to-order production environments
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems for scheduling, labor tracking, and production performance
- Knowledge of ISO quality systems, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement practices
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement certification

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- This is an onsite role based in a manufacturing and engineered systems environment
- Work includes frequent presence on the manufacturing floor and regular movement throughout production areas
- Regular interaction with supervisors, engineers, planners, quality, supply chain, and operations leadership is required
- Exposure to industrial manufacturing areas, including noise, equipment, fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, and material handling, may occur
- Ability to walk, stand, and move throughout production areas for extended periods is required
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. with assistance as needed may be required
- PPE must be worn in designated areas, and all company safety procedures must be followed
- Occasional extended hours may be required to meet production schedules
