Summary
This position is responsible for providing day to day supervision and leadership to the shipping and receiving team in a fast-paced, customer-centric specialty chemical plant. The responsibilities of this position include assuring quality and accuracy of shipments, both incoming and outgoing; planning and assigning work; implementing policies and procedures; increasing subordinate’s skills and capabilities; and recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure accuracy of shipping and receiving products and counts.
Ensure that all Synsus policies and procedures are followed with special emphasis on safety.
Instruct employees as to their duties in the shipping department.
Monitor and ensure adherence to the right-every-time guidelines and requirements.
Monitor worker behavior and ensure that work efforts meet Synsus quality standards.
Exceed customer expectations for the on-time delivery of their branded products.
Instruct, train, evaluate, and encourage your employees.
Organize and complete all necessary paperwork.
Take disciplinary action if situation requires.
Operate industrial forklifts.
Follow shipping procedures.
Ensure the accuracy of the receiving of materials both physically and the computer entries.
Load and unload products and materials as required.
Clean and maintain shipping area and equipment.
Maintain safety, quality, cleanliness, and production standards of Synsus.
Receive incoming products and materials and document into the ERP system.
Assign duties to the S&R team based on plant priorities.
Maintain daily inventory records, both paper and computer.
Other duties assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
Shipping and receiving oversight in previous positions preferred.
Attention to detail and appreciation of deadlines is essential.
Any appropriate combination or education and experience.
Forklift certification strongly preferred.
