Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients with precision using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety standards and safety protocols in production
- Support the kitchen team during meal service by ensuring timely food preparation and presentation
- Follow food handling procedures diligently to ensure optimal freshness and prevent cross-contamination
- Help with menu planning ideas based on ingredient availability and customer preferences
- Contribute to catering events by preparing large quantities of menu items while maintaining quality standards
Skills
- Proven experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or culinary environments with a focus on food preparation and cooking
- Strong knowledge of safety standards in production, food handling, and food safety management practices
- Skilled in knife handling, slicing techniques, and general kitchen operations
- Experience with dietary department procedures or dietary aide responsibilities is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward supporting colleagues during busy shifts
