Cozycroft Pet Hospital is seeking a dependable, energetic Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team in Chatsworth, California.
For more than 50 years, Cozycroft has remained a privately owned, family-operated veterinary hospital with loyal, multigenerational clients. We combine the personal atmosphere of a neighborhood practice with continued investments in modern veterinary medicine, including digital medical records through Covetrus Pulse, IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment, digital dental radiography, and updated diagnostic and surgical equipment.
We are looking for an experienced RVT who takes pride in providing excellent patient care, works well with veterinarians and support staff, and communicates compassionately with pet owners.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, surgeries, dental procedures, and diagnostic testing.
- Safely restrain and handle dogs, cats, and other small-animal patients while minimizing fear and stress.
- Collect blood, urine, and other laboratory samples and perform in-house diagnostic testing.
- Place IV catheters, administer medications and vaccines, and provide treatments as directed by a veterinarian.
- Prepare patients and the surgical area for procedures using proper sterile and aseptic techniques.
- Induce and monitor anesthesia within the legal scope of an RVT, carefully documenting patient vital signs and recovery.
- Perform dental cleanings and assist with digital dental X-rays and other dental procedures.
- Position patients and operate digital radiology equipment while following all required radiation-safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information using Covetrus Pulse.
- Explain medications, discharge instructions, treatment plans, and at-home care to clients clearly and compassionately.
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment, surgery, laboratory, and radiology areas.
- Work closely with veterinarians, veterinary assistants, reception staff, and management to keep the hospital running efficiently.
Qualifications and Skills
- Current California Registered Veterinary Technician license in good standing.
- Previous experience in a small-animal veterinary hospital is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and patient-care procedures.
- Experience with blood draws, IV catheter placement, laboratory testing, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, and dentistry.
- Confident and compassionate animal-handling and restraint skills.
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and attentive in a busy hospital environment.
- Strong communication skills with clients and coworkers.
- Comfortable learning and using veterinary practice-management and laboratory software.
- Dependable, professional, and willing to support the team wherever needed.

Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour
