Logistics Specialist
Location: ABS Compounding Facility, Ravenna, Ohio
Position Summary
LG Chem Ohio Petrochemical, Inc. (LGCOP) is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Specialist to support and coordinate outbound transportation operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring customer orders are shipped accurately and on time while collaborating closely with production, sales, warehouse teams, carriers, and third-party logistics providers.
The ideal candidate has experience managing transportation logistics, strong SAP/ERP skills, and the ability to resolve issues quickly while maintaining excellent customer service. The position reports to the Logistics Manager, and is based at our ABS Compounding Facility in Ravenna, Ohio.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and track outbound shipments to meet customer requirements and delivery schedules.

Plan transportation activities and schedule LTL and FTL carriers.

Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and customer-specific shipping labels.

Work cross-functionally with Sales, Production, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to prioritize shipments and ensure product availability.

Monitor shipment status and proactively communicate delivery updates and potential delays.

Serve as the primary point of contact for logistics-related customer inquiries.

Coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure timely order processing and transportation execution.

Review and process transportation-related invoices and support logistics cost management activities.

Maintain accurate logistics data within SAP and other inventory management systems.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics efficiency, service, and cost performance.
Qualifications
Required

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Minimum 3 years of logistics experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience coordinating transportation, warehousing, and carrier operations.

SAP or ERP system experience.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.

Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred

Knowledge of import/export processes, customs compliance, duties, and HTS classifications.

Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).

Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence experience.

Forklift certification.
