Job Overview
Harmony Road Recovery is seeking an experienced, hands-on Executive Director to lead operations and administration for our behavioral health organization in El Paso, TX. This is a 4–6 month contract role with onsite leadership approximately 2–3 days per week.
We are looking for a strong behavioral health leader who can quickly assess operations, strengthen administrative systems, accountability, and follow-through, and ensure key organizational priorities are effectively managed.
Candidates should have significant leadership experience in substance use disorder/addiction treatment, preferably in an inpatient or residential setting, along with experience in behavioral health operations, administration, and The Joint Commission (TJC/JCAHO) accreditation process.
Temporary relocation assistance is available; local El Paso candidates are preferred.
Depending on performance, fit, and organizational needs, there may be an opportunity to transition into a permanent full-time leadership position.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on executive, administrative, and operational leadership
- Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure key administrative and organizational priorities are completed accurately and on time.
- Assess existing systems and workflows, identify operational and management gaps, and implement practical improvements.
- Establish clear ownership, expectations, deadlines, accountability, and follow-through across departments.
- Work closely with clinical, administrative, and management staff to strengthen coordination and organizational performance.
- Oversee the consistent implementation of organizational policies, procedures, and operational processes.
- Partner with the Clinical Director and clinical team to ensure clinical processes, policies, and procedures align with The Joint Commission standards.
- Lead and support accreditation and survey readiness, including identifying deficiencies and ensuring corrective actions are completed.
- Conduct or oversee a weekly Environment of Care (EOC) review and support ongoing quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Significant leadership experience in behavioral health and substance use disorder/addiction treatment, with a strong background in operations, administration, or clinical leadership.
- Prior experience as an Executive Director, Administrator, Clinical Director, Program Director, Director of Operations, or comparable senior leader.
- Experience with the accreditation process, including strong working knowledge of The Joint Commission standards, compliance, and survey readiness.
- Experience in an inpatient or residential substance use treatment setting preferred.
- Experience developing, reviewing, and implementing clinical and operational policies, procedures, and workflows.
- LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or comparable mental health clinical license preferred; licensure does not need to be in Texas.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- $6,000 - $9,000 per month, commensurate with experience
