LAN Support Technician II

We’re looking for a LAN Support Technician II to join our Team.
What you’ll do:

Employee Support – Provide support to users relating to hardware/software, all applications, components and peripherals (printers, phones, blackberries/iPhones, etc.), and phone system.

New User setup – PC/phone deployment (phone and network patching), security badge and building access restrictions, create LAN ID, create Email ID, and create or coordinate the creation of any other ID’s required for application or database access.

Monitor Electronic Help Desk ticketing system and pursue timely resolution of all work orders
- Escalate work orders when necessary.

Create user accounts in Active Directory; add/remove users from groups, set up Exchange email accounts.

Troubleshoot operating system issues as well as local and network application issues.

Remote Access user Support – Providing software, hardware, configuration, and procedural support and documentation for all users connecting to the network from a remote location – VPN.

Software Licensing – Document and track all installed software application licenses, provide monthly updates to IT Manager for proper adjustments, and prepare purchase requests if necessary. Maintain all software copies checked out for use.

Documentation – Maintain documentation of all related procedures, installation and training documents.

Employee Training – Create and maintain training Plan for new employees (can also be used to retrain) including OS, MS Office Applications, Great Plains, etc., as well as a network and overall system overview.

Equipment – Maintain all desktop and laptop systems and peripherals with software updates and spot checks.

Peripheral Equipment – Maintain and oversee printers, fax machines, scanners, copiers, cameras, individual hubs, and like equipment.

Supplies Maintenance – Ensure the availability of all related consumables: toner, ink cartridges, CD-R’s, Projector Lamps, Spares, and related items.

Resource Availability – Oversee the checking out and maintenance of UEI resources including laptops, projectors, cameras, software, etc.

Conference and meeting rooms – Ensure the continual readiness of the meeting rooms and IT related resources for any scheduled meetings.

Workstation Images – Responsible for the maintenance, deployment, and configuration of employee workstation images. (Desktop and Laptop).

Maintain software and hardware inventory tracking.
-
Network/Phone Cabling – Maintain neatness in all network and phone cabling at the desktop and in the wiring racks.

Build desktop computer systems to accommodate the needs of company users.

Monitor server activity to ensure full operation of business-critical applications that run on the company’s LAN.

Assist in Server Setup, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting.

Assist in I.T. Project planning, testing, and implementation.

Responsible for IP Based Phone System including maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
What we’re looking for:

2 - 5 Years’ Relevant Experience
-
Windows Desktop Operating System (Windows 11).
-
Windows Server Operating System (2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, 2025).
-
Office Productivity Applications – M365, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
-
Common Desktop Applications.
-
Computer Hardware and Related Peripherals.
-
Familiar with Active Directory.
-
Familiar with network protocols and topologies.
-
Familiar with Wireless Networking.
-
Familiar with Routers and Switches.
-
A+ Certification a plus.
-
Network+ Certification a plus.
-
Microsoft Exchange experience a plus.
-
Microsoft SQL experience a plus.

Majority of focus is on Help Desk and Desktop Support, some focus on Server Administration and Projects.
