Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Tow Truck Driver to join our dynamic roadside assistance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting vehicles in need of recovery, repair, or relocation. Your expertise in vehicle mechanics, automotive diagnostics, and cargo securement protocols will ensure efficient and secure vehicle handling. Duties
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional tow trucks, to recover and transport vehicles safely and efficiently
- Perform automotive diagnostics and basic repairs when needed to assist with vehicle issues on-site or en route
- Secure vehicles properly using cargo securement protocols to prevent damage during transit
- Load and unload vehicles carefully, ensuring safety standards are met at all times
- Maintain detailed logs of all towing activities, including vehicle condition reports and route documentation
- Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and emergency responders to coordinate vehicle recovery operations
- Adhere to all safety regulations and mechanical procedures related to vehicle mechanics for truck drivers and tow truck operation
Experience
- Proven experience operating tow trucks, especially flatbed models, with a strong understanding of vehicle mechanics for truck drivers
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics and automotive repair techniques
- Experience with manual transmissions and commercial driving licenses (CDL) is highly preferred
- Familiarity with cargo securement protocols and vehicle mechanics is essential
- Ability to manage conflicts professionally while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle mechanics for trucks and forklifts is advantageous
- Prior experience load & unload operations in a transportation or roadside assistance setting is beneficial
